Rotterdam
City of Rotterdam is a member of the Clinton Climate Initiative. Rotterdam's goal is to realize 50% reduction of CO2 emissions in comparison with 1990 by 2025, in the city as well as at the port. Furthermore Rotterdam will be climate proof in 2025, which is a significant task for a low-lying delta and port city. In Rotterdam we refer to these ambitious, tall orders as ‘reinventing Rotterdam'. City and port will be the scene of extensive additions and developments in the next few decades.
Rotterdam regards the climate-related task, in addition to the tasks mentioned earlier with respect to the economy
and the living environment, as inevitable, yet at the same time as an opportunity and a wonderful challenge.
The climate-related task will enhance the city's appeal and make it stronger!

Rotterdam Climate Initiative
Improving the climate for the benefit of people, the environment, and the economy. That is the goal and the mission of the collective initiators, Port of Rotterdam, the Rotterdam municipality, Deltalinqs, and DCMR Environmental Protection Agency. The Rotterdam Climate Initiative offers a platform for government, organisations, companies and citizens to work together on a fifty per cent reduction of CO2 emissions, while at the same time promoting the economy in the Rotterdam region.
