Why Rotterdam?
Rotterdam is the second biggest port of the world with a total transhipment of 420 million tons. Rotterdam's goal is to realize 50% reduction of CO2 emissions in comparison with 1990 by 2025 (Rotterdam is a member of the Clinton Climate Initiative), in the city as well as at the port. Furthermore Rotterdam will be climate proof in 2025, which is a significant task for a low-lying delta and port city. In Rotterdam we refer to these ambitious, tall orders as ‘reinventing Rotterdam'.
